Liberia Climate Change Negotiations
Liberia is advancing sustainable agriculture through climate-smart farming, agro-ecological practices, and value chain development. These projects strengthen food security, restore degraded lands, and improve smallholder livelihoods across rural counties.
This EU-implemented project boosts domestic rice production and processing capacity. It promotes climate-resilient infrastructure, value chain modernization, and reduced reliance on imported staple rice.
Financed by the African Development Bank (as loan and grant), this initiative (2022–2024) enhances climate-smart rice cultivation by providing subsidized seeds and fertilizer, strengthening post-harvest systems, and supporting food security.
Implemented by the EU across Bong, Lofa, and Nimba counties, this project promotes diversified livelihoods through climate-smart fish farming, agro-ecological practices, and inclusive value chains targeting youth and smallholder farmers.
